It’s been a week of what I like to call “minor tragedies” (I have to put the words in quotes so that people don’t gasp and conclude the worst… although, they have been major tragedies for those more closely involved). Let me start with my online viewing/ordering company. They experienced an explosion in their server room this week. Now, when I heard this, I immediately thought “well, just sweep up the dust and get things moving again!” But it was much more serious than I originally thought. No one was hurt, but it was an actual explosion, with walls blown out and everything! Needless to say, they have had a time getting things back on track so that their customers (photographers) could get back to posting pictures online for you all to see. I’ve lost a little time due to this setback, but I can’t hold this against the company, since they are hurting far more than I am!
Secondly, my most favorite of all restaurants in Dallas (mentioned in an earlier post, although I didn’t share the name…) burned down this week. To the ground. A family owned restaurant, it was the kind of place where you quickly became a regular. I loved feeling like you had to be “in the know” to have even heard of it, much less be able to find it tucked away in its cozy corner. I’m a little more sad about this tragedy than I probably should be. I mean, it was just a restaurant. But I had some really wonderful memories attached to that place. Mostly because it was a spot I originally frequented with my older brother. I later brought friends for special birthday celebrations. I took out-of-town friends there for many a dinner after downtown Dallas excursions. I knew the owners, I knew the wait staff. They’ve been around since the 1960’s, and really had a special place. I hope the owners decide to rebuild and start again, and that the atmosphere of the original Cremona’s follows with them.
No pictures to post this time. Just sharing a few things on my mind this week. But never fear, I will be posting lots more pictures in the coming weeks, as I finish wading through all of the weddings, bridal portraits, and engagement sessions from a super busy May. Stay tuned!

Jon – Thanks for the optimistic attitude, and for providing an up-side! Yes, Fido still remains… and for that I am eternally happy.
